Dunedin Cottage is an end terraced cottage set in the quaint little fishing village of Lower Largo in the East Neuk of Fife on Scotland’s pretty east coast.
In Lower Largo, a typical East Neuk village, where the Keil Burn flows into the sea, is Dunedin Cottage. An end terraced cottage, dating from the early 1700s, it was probably here when Bonnie Prince Charlie was a lad.
While its exterior may not have changed, its interior now is unrecognizable, so well have the new owners restored and refurbished the cottage. Outside, there is a pretty decking area (furniture, barbecue). Inside, the well-fitted modern kitchen retains its beamed ceiling, while the upstairs sitting room looks south across the Firth of Forth.
There is a little supermarket and a hotel just across the bridge and other pubs, restaurants, shops etc. up in the village. There is an excellent links golf course (a recognized practice ground when the Open is at St Andrews) close by at Lundin Links. The cottage is 100 yards or so from the beach while walkers can pick up the Fife Coastal Path more or less from the door. There is also boat hire at the pier.
